The Handwerker Gallery seeks faculty, staff, and student co-coordinators for the nationwide project, Official Unofficial Voting Stations: Voting for all who legally can’t, in collaboration with artist Aram Han Sifuentes and the Jane Addams Hull-House (Chicago). The gallery will serve as the Ithaca hub for this exciting project and seeks help in the creation of our own voting box and recruitment strategies.

Please join us in congratulating Ryan DeLany, Manager of the Academic Advising Center, on his new position as Assistant Director of Engineering Advising at Cornell University.  We will be hosting an open reception in Ryan's honor on Friday, August 19th, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Academic Advising Center's conference room (124 Rothschild Place).  We invite all students, staff, and faculty to come by and wish him well!

Ryan has been with Ithaca College since 2013 and played on instrumental role in establishing the Academic Advising Center.  Ryan's last day at Ithaca College will be August 26th, 2016.

Registration is currently open for the August offering of the R.A.D. self-defense course for women.  Spaces still remain for this class, which will be conducted in three 3-hour sessions on August 10, 11 and 12, and which is open to any employee who identifies as female.

While Ithaca College is not yet being directly affected by the severe drought in the Ithaca area, the college is taking proactive steps to reduce water usage, and asking members of the campus community to consider ways they can lessen individual water consumption.

The campus is served by the Bolton Point Water System, which—unlike the water source for some other local communities and institutions—is not currently facing low supply levels. Nevertheless, the college is interested in being a good steward of our natural resources, and we will update the campus community should conditions change.

A recent position vacancy in General Services has resulted in a reorganization via workforce analysis and the elimination of a position. 

This reorganization in both Mail Services and Print Production has provided the opportunity to create efficiencies while still providing a similar level of service to the campus. Beginning August 8, 2016 print orders will be delivered on the following schedule.

Alan Cohen, Associate Professor of Business, and Steve Mauk, Professor of Music, were mistakenly included in a list of faculty who retired during the 2015-16 academic year in the fall issue of ICView magazine. Neither is retiring, but both were recently honored for teaching at IC for 40 years and are beginning their 41st year with Ithaca College.
