A Rose By Any Other Name

Wednesday March 31, from 7-9PM in Textor 103 there will be a special performer coming to Ithaca College. Her name is Nancy Hulse and she will be using a mixture of performance art, music, poetry, audience participation and dance in her performance "A Rose by Any Other Name" to portray how rape affects women's lives.

Dominic Mathiang will speak this Thursday, April 1 at 7:00 p.m. in Textor 103. Dominic is one of the refugees who fled southern Sudan during the early years of "civil war" in the 1980s, and who are known collectively as "The Lost Boys of Sudan."

Associate professor of music education Keith Kaiser will present at the American Education Research Association Annual Meeting in Denver, Colorado. Kaiser, and his research colleagues, will present findings from a recent research project funded through a Sounds of Learning (Grammy Foundation) Grant -- Underlying Social Structures in Music Education: Teacher Perceptions of Curricular Evidence.

Argentine poet and activist, Alicia Partnoy, will share the "adventures" of her testimonial narrative, La Escuelita/The Little School, in which she tells of her experiences as a "disappeared" political prisoner in Argentina during the 1970s. Alicia Partnoy currently teaches Spanish at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

Conger, Assistant Professor of Economics, delivered a paper entitled “What Do Employers Pay For?  Unpacking College Major, Experience, and Specific Skills” at the 36th Annual Conference of the Eastern Economic Association in Philadelphia, PA.  Conger was also the chief discussant for the Panel on Women in the Labor Market.
