The tremendous volume of packages cannot all be accommodated at Phillips Hall.  We have over 1400 packages and many are located at the Mail Center.  Before you stand in a long line to pick up your package only to discover it is at the Mail Center, read your email.

Remember, Phillips Hall and the Mail Center will be open on Sunday, 1/24, from 10:30am - 4:30pm for package pick up.  Mail rooms will open on Monday, 1/25.  Mail that arrived during break has been sorted into the mail boxes.

Move, Dave Pierpont’s video documentary on two parkour practitioners has been featured on the front page of AmericanParkour.com, the most popular website for parkour practitioners in the USA. 

Parkour is the physical discipline of training to overcome any obstacle within one's path by adapting one's movements to the environment. Parkour movements typically include running, jumping, vaulting, climbing, and balancing.

Each year, Ithaca College chooses a central theme for its annual MLK Day celebration. This year's theme is "Where Do You Stand," derived from the quote, "The ultimate measure of individuals is not where they stand in moments of comfort and convenience, but where they stand at times of challenge and controversy." This was taken from a Dr. King sermon entitled, "On Being a Good Neighbor."

The weeklong-plus schedule of events from January 25 through February 2 include a kick-off event featuring the MLK Scholars and a Diversity Listening Session hosted by President Rochon, educational workshops on Tuesday and Thursday, the "Take a Stand" Social Justice Fair on Wednesday, the MLK Day of Service on Saturday (register by Wednesday, January 27 to participate), and a conversation with President Rochon on Tuesday, February 2. TCAT has made some positive changes to its service for Spring semester 2010.

Beginning today, purchase your student semester TCAT bus pass for only $110; a $10 savings over last fall's price.

In addition, your Ithaca College student ID card will now be your TCAT semester bus pass! Once TCAT activates the semester pass on your card, you'll just have to swipe your ID card to ride the bus; no more separate bus pass to keep track of! The process is easy!

Johanna Goehner will be back at the Wellness Clinic this semester teaching Pilates. The class will meet on Tuesdays at 1:30, beginning on January 26th, and will run for 14 weeks. The cost is $60. Space is limited so if you would like to reserve a spot, contact me at ithaca.edu/wellness.

The Phillips Hall Post Office and the Mail Center will be open Sunday for package pick up from 10:30am – 4:30pm. 

As of Tuesday afternoon, we have received and sent emails for over 950 student packages and are adding 300 each day to this amount. 

Mail rooms will open Monday on the same schedule as last semester.

Sign ups began on Monday, January 11th for Yoga, Pilates, T'ai Chi and Massage at  the Fitness Center. There are fees charged for yoga, pilates, t'ai chi and massage because they are taught by professional instructors.

The Spring 2010 Block 1 Group Exercise Class schedule has been posted!  Don't forget to mark your schedules now so that you don't miss out on these great, FREE, fitness opportunities! You can sign-up at the Fitness Center front desk 30 minutes prior for the FREE classes on a first-come, first-served basis.

A Supervised Exercise Program for Fitness Enhancement

What: Fun and Motivating Fitness Program for Children of IC employees ages 10-16

Where: Ithaca College Wellness Clinic, CHS

When: February 2 – April 29 (12 wks with 1 wk break in March)

      Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 – 5pm

Who: Children interested in becoming more active and improving their fitness level or athletes interested in performance enhancement.

(All will participate in separate, goal specific training sessions in a positive and motivating environment)

Why: Because our children should be HEALTHY & FIT 

How: Email wellness@ithaca.edu to reserve your child’s spot at a low cost.

Enrollment is limited to 20 participants and applications will be accepted on a first come first served basis. This will allow us to maintain a 5:1 child to instructor ratio.
