The public is invited to attend the final round of the D'Addario Classical Guitar Competition at Ithaca College on Saturday, February 19. Starting at 4:00 p.m. in the Hockett Family Recital Hall of the James J. Whalen Center for Music, the event culminates a daylong series of competitions involving 13 aspiring young musicians from high schools and universities throughout the Northeast who registered for the event.

Premium Blend will perform at the Handwerker Gallery at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, as part of the gallery's Thursdays at the Handwerker series. Established in 1998, Premium Blend is Ithaca College's female a cappella group. They perform locally and tour the Northeast and South annually.

The Ithaca College Office of Public Safety has charged Eric Balderee, 26, of El Cajon, California, in connection with threats he allegedly made against his former girlfriend, an Ithaca College student. Balderee was taken into custody by the New York State Police at 7:40 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, on the New York State Thruway near Geneva, about 55 miles northwest of Ithaca.

The 128 individual panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt are coming to Emerson Suites in the Campus Center on Sunday, February 20, through Wednesday February 23. Each of the over 42,960 colorful panels in the entire quilt display was made to commemorate the life of a person lost to AIDS.

The long journey of a small Torah scroll into space inspired the creation of a documentary film to be discussed at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 23, in Park Auditorium. Its Emmy award-winning producer Dan Cohen will show excerpts from the work in progress, as part of his presentation “From the Holocaust to the Space Shuttle: The Journey of a Tiny Torah.”
