May session tuition is not included in the tuition already paid for the fall/spring semesters, and May session tuition is not included in your financial aid award package. Tuition for May session is billed in addition to fall/spring course work.

May session is billed per credit. Each credit hour for May session 2015 courses is $1,186.

Do you ever feel like every time you turn around  a new friend or family member is diagnosed with cancer? Are you trying to think what you personally can do to turn that around? Well, I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired of watching that cancer show...hand me the remote! I'm changing the channel on cancer!

The Tompkins County Relay for Life will be held on campus on the outdoor track on Saturday, July 11th, raising money to support cancer research. Ithaca College's team, IC Hope, has long been one of the top teams in the Relay, a tradition we want to continue!  We invite you to join us for our first organizational meeting on Monday, May 11th at noon in the "Glass Room" in the Snack Bar. Bring your enthusiasm and creativity and we will bring experienced members who will tell you all about the event! Together we will plan this year's successful mission!

Therapeutic Recreation students Harmony Graves Malone, Kate Basile, Rachel Sitek and Angela Miranda co-presented a four-hour pre-conference institute with Dr. Janice Elich Monroe, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies, at the New York State Therapeutic Recreation Association’s 20th Annual Multi-Day Conference held April 25-28 in Saratoga Springs, New York.

The institute titled, The BREATH {Pathway: Enhancing Functional Skills and Coping Strategies of Stroke Survivors, highlighted the results of a pilot study of a Therapeutic Recreation/Speech Language Pathology and Audiology intervention that was implemented at the Center for Life Skills during the Fall 2014 semester.

As our first week with PayFlex comes to a close, a few reminders for those with a Health Care Flexible Spending Account.

By now you have received a new PayFlex Debit Card that you can begin to use on or after May 8, 2015 to pay for Prescription Drug co-pays.  The FSA PayFlex card will allow participants to use the card at qualified merchants where MasterCard is accepted.  In order for the cards to work the stores must have a system that can process healthcare cards (most large chain stores have this system).  The debit card can only be used to pay for prescription copays. *Once you exhaust your Flexible Spending Account please retain your debit card if you plan to elect to have a flexible spending account in future years.  If you elected a healthcare flexible spending account in 2015 and have NOT received a debit card please contact benefits@ithaca.edu

The new dean of the Ithaca College School of Business is a veteran leader. Sean Reid, currently associate dean and associate professor of finance at the Quinnipiac University School of Business, will assume his new position on July 1.

In addition to his academic career as a teacher and administrator, Reid is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy who has spent the past three decades as an officer serving the country on active duty and in the reserves.

Vice President for Enrollment and Communication Eric Maguire has accepted a position at Franklin & Marshall College as vice president and dean of admission and financial aid. This marks a return to F&M for Maguire, who had served there for nine years in positions of increasing responsibility in admissions and enrollment management before joining Ithaca College in 2009.

Asma Barlas, professor of Politics and director of the Center for the Study of Culture, Race, and Ethnicity, has published an essay on “Qur'anic Hermeneutics and Women's Liberation” in The Bloomsbury Reader on Islam in the West, edited by Edward E. Curtis. The essay is the text of Barlas' address to the first International Congress on Islamic Feminism that was held in Barcelona, Spain.
