Holy Heretics! is a student-led, informal discussion group which discusses religion and all things related to religion in a casual yet thoughtful environment. Everyone of any perspective is welcome and encouraged to attend!

Labor Initiative Promoting Solidarity Presents Social movement Teach-In and film screening of: "In the Shadow of the Tower"

April 19th at 7pm in Williams Hall 323

Learn more about poverty in Tompkins County, the living wage
movement, and how other colleges and universities around the
country and here in Ithaca have taken action for sustainable
communities.

In the Shadow of the Tower is a short film from 1992 by
Cornell University students about the living wage movement
there and the lives of the workers it advocated for.

Anna Campbell ’11, Lauren Brauchli ’11, and River Ferris ’11 recently won a College Television Award for their documentary, “Bound By Hope: One Family's Story.” The students will screen their film on Wednesday, April 20 at 9 p.m. in the Park Auditorium.

The film was originally created as part of their video workshop class and focuses on a four-year-old named Josh Scoble. Josh was diagnosed with a rare disease called Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP) when he was only three months old. FOP causes Josh's muscles, tendons and ligaments to progressively turn into bone. Josh's family tries to give him a normal life, never forgetting the delicate situation they are faced with. Although Josh faces challenges every day of his life, he remains an extremely happy child.

In a United States court of law, how does the race of the defendant affect the verdict?
RACE TO EXECUTION, a film by Rachel Lyon, follows the story of two death row inmates, exploring the link between race and the death penalty in America.  

Join IC Human Rights in exploring the death penalty in American.  Race to Execution will be screened in Textor 101, Thursday April 21st at 8pm.

Barney Beins presented the opening keynote address at the teaching program of the Rocky Mountain Psychological Association convention in Salt Lake City. The presentation was entitled Would People Sooner Die Than Think? Critical Thinking in Psychology.
