In some countries, being thought to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT) can result in imprisonment, deportation, or even the death penalty. This film documents the struggles of LGBT people for basic human rights in the face of severe oppression in such countries as Egypt, Kenya, and Honduras. The College is also required by law to provide information related to all federal and New York State laws that are critical for you to know. The "Public Safety" section of the student handbook serves as the College's annual security report as required by federal law. Auditions for this group will be held during the day on Wednesday, August 26 from 10AM—4PM, and on Thursday, August 27 from 10AM until all interested singers have been heard. Read more . . . (109 words) Information for the Campus Community on Possible Leafleting during Opening WeekendContributed by Carl Sgrecci on 08/21/09 As the result of an ongoing dispute involving the primary contractor on the Athletics and Events Center and a Rochester-based union, there will likely be an informational leafleting campaign by members of the local trades council at the entrances to campus and around town during opening weekend, August 22–24. It is important for the campus community to know and understand that this dispute does not involve Ithaca College employees, but rather the workers used by subcontractors of Pike Construction.
