Please see this May 20 Intercom story for more details. As of May 3, the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continues to recommend that U.S. travelers avoid all nonessential travel to Mexico because of the spread and severity of the H1N1 influenza (swine flu) in that country. Some of the U.S. swine flu cases have been linked to persons who have traveled to Mexico. The CDC is concerned that travel to Mexico presents a serious health risk for the traveler and for others who might be exposed to the flu upon the traveler's return to the United States.
