Ithaca College is pleased to announce the implementation of a number of new laundry systems for the start of the 2006-2007 academic year. These new systems were installed as the result of student feedback, a desire to support Ithaca College’s sustainability goals, and as a effort to provide better all around service. A task force from many offices worked on the laundry project for over three years and was made up of Robert Mudge (Purchasing), Fernando Gualtieri (ID Office), Zach Newswanger (Residential Life) and David Prunty (Campus Life Services). Auditions for the Ithaca College Vocal Jazz Ensemble will be held on Wednesday, August 30 in the Friends Green Room (next to Hockett Recital Hall) at Whalen Center for Music. A sign-up sheet will be placed outside of that room. Please come early to your audition to fill out an information sheet. Auditions are open to all IC students regardless of major.

You will be asked to sing a jazz/pop standard song of your choice (please bring a leadsheet with you--accompaniment will be provided), to sightread, and to improvise (“scat”) over a simple chord progression. You need not have prior jazz experience, but strong musicianship and confidence are vital.

Vocal Jazz Ensemble meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00—7:50 PM. Students chosen are expected to participate for the full academic year. Credit for VJE is is .5 or 1.0 depending on student's major.
