On Thursday, June 22, at 6:30 p.m. in Center for Natural Sciences Room 112, Ithaca College will host a short presentation by the TCLocal about our diminishing energy resources and what the Tompkins County community can do about the problem. This talk will be followed by a screening of the newly-released Community Solutions film, "The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil." This event is free and open to the public.

organized by the Snowstar Institute and Forum for
Learning in Toronto, Canada.

Representatives of the volunteer committee that organizes the annual community fireworks show in Ithaca report that some V-I-P packages are still available for this year’s show on Monday night, July 3. Fran Benedict, chair of the committee, says anyone in the community is eligible to become a Very Important Patron of the fireworks.The V-I-P area features a mini-concert by ”The Fault Line” and Aaron Kelly, the young country-and-western singing sensation.

Marina Todd Retiring

Marina Todd, director of creative services, has decided to take early retirement and leave Ithaca later this month. Marina's last day in the office will be June 23. She will continue to work with us on a number of critical projects throughout the rest of the year.

The Center for Faculty Excellence and the Health Promotion and Substance Abuse Prevention Program announce a competition for two $300 summer stipends to develop a classroom exercise that uses data about the health attitudes and behavior of Ithaca College students. Proposals are due on June 23 and receipients will be notified by June 30.

Rock Climbing at Little Falls

Recreational Sports is planning a trip to Little Falls, NY:

  • Wednesday, June 14
  • $30 / person
  • Pack a lunch
  • Vans will be departing the Fitness Center at 8:00 a.m. and returning approximately at 4:30 p.m. Cost includes round trip transportation and climbing gear. Sign up at the Fitness Center front desk, cash or check payable to Ithaca College. Payment due Monday, June 12.

    Due to this trip, there will be NO OPEN climbing time at the IC Wall Wednesday, June 14.

    As we continue "Following The Yellow Brick Road to a Cure", IC Hope, our campus Relay for Life team, invites you to join us for our next meeting Wednesday, June 7, in the "glass room" of Cafe Square.     A funeral service for Ryan Winslow will be held Friday, June 2, at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Glens Falls, N.Y. Winslow, a 2003 Ithaca graduate and member of the football team, passed away on Monday.

    Friday’s service begins at 11:00 a.m. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.
