The Roy H. Park School of Communications is pleased to announce that Mara Liasson will serve as this year's Jessica Savitch Distinguished Journalism Lecturer. Liasson is the national political correspondent for National Public Radio. Her reports can be heard regularly on NPR's award-winning newsmagazines All Things Considered and Morning Edition.

Liasson will be on campus Thursday, April 7, and will present a public lecture entitled, "A View From Washington: Covering Hot-Button Issues." The lecture is scheduled at 7:30 p.m. in the Park Auditorium. Seating will be limited, so please arrive early.

The inaugural Occupied Spaces Symposium will begin Friday and run through Saturday at the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. The symposium will feature research from scholars as far away as Arizona, Michigan, and Illinois; performances from cellist Hank Roberts and a world premiere from DJ/VJ Art Jones; and two days of lively debate and discussion about occupied spaces in all their many forms, from geographic to gaming, post-9/11 in the United States and across the globe.
