Violet Opens this Week

The musical Violet borrows from American traditions of blues, gospel, and folk to tell the story of the growth and enlightenment of a young woman as she searches for a miracle.

Violet will be performed at 8:00 p.m. on March 21, 23, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31, and April 1, with a 2:00 p.m. matinee on March 26 and April 1. All performances will be held in the Clark Theatre at Dillingham Center.

Tickets can be purchased at the Dillingham Center box office, the Clinton House Ticket Center, and Cornell University's Willard Straight Hall. Ticket prices range from $4.50 to $10.00. Festival passes for the over 30 screenings of feature-length films programmed for the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF) downtown at Cinemapolis and Fall Creek Cinemas from March 31 though April 6 are now on sale at the Ithaca College bookstore. Screenings will feature new releases from Morocco, Argentina, Mexico, France, Algeria, Cambodia, Kenya, Senegal, China, Thailand, Germany, and Belgium.

Ithaca College is teaming up with anime publisher Central Park Media for a screening of CPM's forthcoming computer-generated monster movie, Negadon: The Monster From Mars. This special preview will take place on Friday, March 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 138 of the Roy H. Park Hall. It is free and open to the public.
