Robert C. Atchley, Ph.D, is the Gerontology Institute's fall 2008 distinguished speaker. He is distinguished professor of gerontology (emeritus) at Miami University, Ohio. In 2007 he retired as professor and chair of the gerontology department at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado.

Kiersten Timpe '10, an integrated marketing communications (IMC) major at Ithaca College, was awarded the Lee Epstein Scholarship by the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation. The faculty sponsor was professor Scott Hamula, who is also director of the IMC program in the Roy H. Park School of Communications.

Kiersten said, "I was really surprised when I found out I received the scholarship. It was a huge honor to be recognized. I'm attending Ithaca's L.A. program in the spring, so I'm excited to explore interactive marketing with an internship."
