Career Services wishes to notify the campus community of a temporary suspension of our summer drop-in hours service​ due to the number of current vacancies on our career counseling staff.  We will continue to meet with students and alumni for appointments as usual and drop-in hours service will resume at the start of the 2016-2017 academic year. This temporary change to our service model will enable us to complete our active searches as well as focus on other key initiatives and training.
 
We appreciate the support and understanding of the IC community during this exciting time of transition.

The Fall 2016 Student Organization Fair is Wednesday, August 31 from 10am-3pm in Emerson Suites. There will be over 150 student organizations promoting events, recruiting members, and showcasing their student organization. The student organization is free to attend. Take this opportunity to network with student leaders, find your passion and sign up for so many amazing student organizations. 

All recognized and new student organizations are able to sign up. Deadline to sign up is August 24 by 5pm.

I am pleased to announce that Mr. David Weil has been name Interim Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer. He will succeed Keith “Mac” McIntosh, and his official first day in the role will be July 25, 2016.  Considering that “Mac” will be leaving on July 22, 2016, Dave’s appointment will allow for him to have some overlap with “Mac” understanding the strategic initiatives that the college will continue to implement.

In the aftermath of last fall’s student protests around the issues of race, diversity and inclusion, the Division of Finance and Administration has undertaken a process of exploration, dialogue and engagement around this topic. The work of this group has been very impactful for its attendees, and as a result of our work to date, the college has been selected by the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) to participate in a webcast entitled “The CBO’s Role in Race, Diversity and Inclusion.” As the CBO (Chief Business Officer) at the college I will be sharing my perspectives on this topic.

Scott Erickson, Professor in the Department of Marketing/Law, School of Business, has been selected as a Fulbright-National Science Foundation Arctic Research Scholar for 2016/2017. Under the Fulbright-NSF program, he will conduct Arctic-related research while based at Akureyri University, Iceland.  The grant is an offshoot of the Fulbright Arctic Initiative:
