Students to Have Intercom Access

Beginning Monday, April 4, students will be able to log in and participate in Intercom. To meet student needs, Intercom will also include two new topic areas specifically for students.

Child Restraint Law

New York State Child Passenger Restraint Law

Beginning March 27, 2005, children ages 4, 5,and 6, riding in any seating position of a motor vehicle, will be required to be restrained in an appropriate child restraint system.

Rebecca Plante, assistant professor of sociology, has been invited to be the keynote luncheon speaker at the New York State Sociological Association annual meetings in October, 2005.

The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching has selected Michael Smith,
assistant professor of history, to join 20 other academicians from around the world in the Carnegie
Scholars Program for 2005-2006. Administered by the Carnegie Foundation, the program seeks to
bring together educators who are developing new models for teaching.

Renowned author and journalist Seymour Hersh will be visiting Ithaca College on March 24 and 25 as the Park Distinguished Speaker for the 2004-2005 academic year.



The public lecture will take place as originally scheduled; the "town hall" Q&A is rescheduled.

Hersh will participate in a "town hall" question-and-answer session on Friday, March 25, at 9:00 a.m. in Park Auditorium. This session, originally scheduled for Thursday afternoon, is open exclusively to Ithaca College faculty, students, and staff.
